Tuna-day the 13th
Have you heard the radio spots for Subway’s new campaign for its day-of-the-week specials? At first, I wasn’t sure I liked it. It wasn’t until I heard the one for “Friday” or “Tuna-day”, that I started to appreciate it.
The spot starts off with a female thinking the paper has a typo when it states that it is Friday—a word she doesn’t comprehend. When her husband/sig other tries to explain it to her, she acts all bewildered and claims, “You’re acting weird, is it like Tuna-day the 13th or something?”
Ah, the payoff. Having heard more since, I’ve come to like some more than others. Imagining what was likely the brief for the campaign, I can appreciate this as a concept.
Signing off for what is another Tuna-day Eve!
