…and we’re back
Blogs have a funny way of going dormant on you. In this case, I was tasked with keeping a blog for work and so switched my focus there. Subsequent to that, I was on mat leave. With a young child, blogging isn’t exactly top of mind.
Here we are, several months later (an eon in the digital world). So much has changed. So much has stayed the same. Facebook and Twitter are still at the front of the herd, while newcomers Path and Pinterest are quickly gaining ground (or at least Pinterest is; jury is still out on Path).
Speaking of Pinterest … it’s always interesting to see how brands leverage the various social media. Pinterest is a great platform for clothing and furniture retailers, and food- and design-related brands. Others are trying hard to be relevant, but their brands just don’t lend themselves to that particular type of social media.
It’s not good enough to jump on the bandwagon of everything out there. You have to think what complements your brand and is a hangout for your target audience. Otherwise, you will likely fail miserably.
